Gunnison Trails is looking for crew leaders to help us with four, three hour work sessions on public lands that are part of Western’s freshman orientation. This new orientation program is designed to improve retention by introducing incoming freshman to all that is great about their new home in the Gunnison Valley. Early indicators show that last year’s effort was a smashing success.

Volunteer for just one session, two, three or all of them if you can. You’ll be working side by side with staff from our local BLM office, stalwarts from Gunnison Trails and others.

This year, we’ll again have four, three hour long session spread over three days: Thursday August 22nd, Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th.

Crew leading experience is helpful but not mandatory. The desire to engage and work with college students in the outdoors is a plus. If you’re kind of a grumpy recluse, then this might not be the project for you.

Dates and Times (times are more or less)

Session #1
Thursday August 22nd Noon to 4pm

Session #2
Friday August 23rd 8am to Noon

Session #3

dave
