IT’S ON! The BIG fall dig day in Signal Peak returns!
After missing out in 2020, we’re excited to bring back our big fall work day, proudly supported by Pinnacle Orthopedics! Come celebrate National Public Lands Day, Saturday, Sept. 25th, and help build the next big stretch of new trail in Signal Peak. This year, we’re heading deeeeep, building a trail that marks the eastern most boundary of the trail system. When completed, this trail will connect the furthest reaches of S. Rim to the very end of the Contour trail, creating a massive, all singletrack loop from town!

We’ll be kicking off the day at 9am from BLM 3211D. To get there, take highway 50 east for 3.75 miles and turn LEFT onto BLM 3211D (there will be a TRAILWORK sign on the left side of the highway). The turn is just across from AM Salvage Barnwood, the timber-framing business. After turning off Highway 50, take a left through a green BLM gate (make sure to close the gate behind you), and drive another 1.5 miles up a dirt road (the route will be marked with yellow arrows). 4WD is recommended, although any vehicle with AWD and decent clearance should be fine. We encourage you to carpool or ride to the workday (riding S. Rim all the way east to it’s end will get you there) to keep traffic and impacts to a minimum.

We’ll work from 9am until 3pm and then celebrate with delicious burgers from Parker Pastures and tasty ales from High Alpine Brewing. It’s rugged sage country, with plenty of rock (seriously, like a lot of rock), so be sure to wear sturdy shoes, gloves, a good sun hat and bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
