The Assistant Director will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to secure financial support, cultivate sponsor\/member relationships and promote the organization’s mission. This part-time position requires a motivated and experienced individual with strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for trail advocacy and outdoor recreation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Part-time position ~ 20 hours\/week, with periods of fewer hours during the winter months and more hours in the spring (Growler) and fall.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Starting pay for qualified applicants is at least $25\/hour and depends on experience.<\/span><\/li>\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Member\/Business Sponsor Cultivation: Identify and steward relationships with individual members and business sponsors to secure financial support for Gunnison Trails.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Gunnison Trails\u2019 database, ensuring effective tracking of donor\/member\/business sponsor interactions, contributions, and communications.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Donor\/Member\/Business Sponsor Recognition: Acknowledge and show appreciation to individual donors, members and business sponsors and send timely tax deductible receipts and thank you letters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Communications: Create compelling and persuasive fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletters and social media campaigns to engage and inform members and sponsors about Gunnison Trails\u2019 work.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Events: Help plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, including the Original Growler, Ales for Trails and the Winter Blast, and cultivate event sponsorships.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Trail Work Events: Help plan, promote and execute volunteer work days, including Trail Work Tuesdays, Hartman Rocks Spring Cleanup Day and National Public Lands Day\/Big Fall Workday.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Research and Trends: Stay informed about current fundraising trends, best practices, and new opportunities in the recreation\/trail world to maximize fundraising potential.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Grant Writing and Management: Research, write, and submit grant proposals and applications to secure funding from foundations and government agencies. Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and objectives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Qualifications<\/strong><\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Knowledge and passion for trail advocacy, outdoor recreation, and environmental conservation.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Experience in fundraising and development, preferably within the nonprofit sector.<\/span><\/li>\n
