This weeks Trail Tuesday is sponsored by CB Mountain Runners, hosting running events and giving back to our valley trails since 1988! We hope you can join us this coming Tuesday, from 4-7pm, to give  a bit of love to South Rim and Music Rocks, including some much needed re-benching, a bit of backsloping and some lopping along the trail corridors. If you arrive after 4pm, sign the waiver and grab a tool or two from the back of the truck (Rogue hoe, McLeod or shovel) and walk east on the road until you intersect Duane’s World. Head up Duane’s World, take a right on South Rim and head towards Music Rocks until you find us. We’ll work until 7pm before kicking back, firing up the GT grill and enjoying some much needed libations. As always, wear sturdy shoes and bring warm layers, a rain coat and plenty of water.

Directions – We’ll be meeting at the cattle troughs off BLM road 3211B (just below South Rim trail to the east of Good Tree). To get there, take Highway 50 east for 1.5 miles and turn left onto Ute Lane (just past the cemetery). Travel on Ute Lane for .5 mile before turning left onto BLM 3123. Continue on 3123 for 2.4 miles, then turn right on BLM 3211B just before the saddle below Signal Peak (this road is easy to miss). The road climbs and descends several steep gullies before you reach the cattle troughs. We encourage you to carpool or ride to the workday to keep traffic and impacts to a minimum.

We’re finalizing our alignment on the newest section of South Rim and hope to begin construction in the coming weeks. Check out our fall work schedule below, and we hope to see you out there!
